Monday Night Edition

The procrastination bug got me today after the lazy bug bit me all weekend. 😛

Actually, I had a bit of a sick stomach that kept me up until the wee hours last night and I couldn’t get back in sync until this very moment.

Weight Statistics

I don’t believe that number for a second. I ate entirely too much yesterday and I skipped my Sunday ride. Nope, I don’t believe it for a second. I expect the scale to bounce up tomorrow.

Yesterday’s Meal Plan

Breakfast – Eggs with cheese. onions and mushrooms, maple sausage links (lots), a few crispy crown potatoes.

Lunch –  Broiled chicken and salad

Dinner – Hamburger patty and cheese

Snack – Hamburger patty and cheese

Calories – 2135

Ouch. I did okay at breakfast. I didn’t eat any biscuits or grits and only a few crispy crowns but then I couldn’t stop eating the rest of the day and into the night. I had that last burger around 10pm which is why I wasn’t expecting anything but a gain this morning and it was probably that burger that made me queasy into the wee hours.

Biking Update

Wind gusts up to 20 kept me off the levee. I was hot and tired and there was no amount of motivation that was going to get me up on that levee yesterday with 20 mph winds.  Not good to start the week off on a skip. 😦

Tip Of The Day

SNACKS

My step dad is always reading string cheese on my meal plan and he had no idea what the heck that was so I gave him one.

He was not impressed. He is correct. 😀

You need to be careful with snacks. I tried Diamond wasabi almonds but portion control was too hard. I tried wasabi peas, but once again portion control was too hard. I tried pepper jack cheese sticks, but yum yum yum equals poor portion control.

I tried the mozzarella string cheese and it didn’t excite me but I also didn’t hate it. We have a winner. You need to find a snack that you can tolerate and that is it. If you like it too much, then you will be tempted to eat way more than your portion.

If you try almonds or nuts, make sure you split the cans into individual portions and NEVER keep the can near your tv or computer. I went through many a can of Wasabi peas and almonds before I finally forced myself to find a less tasty treat.

  1. Salty foods are almost impossible for me to ration (historically speaking – not eating any right now). Nuts are especially hard because there’s all the “how great nuts are for you” hype which is true, unless you eat the whole can!! I don’t see a lot of nuts in my future. 😉

  2. Looks like everyone is posting late on Monday night. Getting caught up… So close to goal… Amazing…. I am afraid at 6’5″ I will never see the 100’s again — I am hoping for below 250 lbs. In my dreams I am 180 though…

    • Ed, at 6’5″ 180 would be grossly skinny. Make yourself full-o-muscle and then 250 on that 6’5″ frame would be impressive. 230 should be as low as you would ever think … even that you would probably look like a school boy. 🙂

      • Yeah, he has no need to get to 180 as tall as he is. Heck he will be lean and mean at 250. 😀

  3. Grumpy — I am having that same eat too much of a good thing with these yummy nut crackers that I have found. I am craving something bready and salty with my congestion today — soup and crackers are all I want. What I am really craving is regular saltine crackers with a nice slathering of butter. Something I only allowed myself to do one or twice a year in my past life.

    Not even considering it today — but it is there in the back of my mind — hence the NO saltines in my house thing. 🙂
