Within Reason!

Today was going to be guilt free as long as I stayed within reason.

I did not!!!

Reason was nowhere to be found!

I can’t get Popeye’s out of my brain. I was 100% positive I was going to cheat with some Popeye’s yesterday. Heck, I even had a coupon in hand all ready to chow down on some chicken.

The last couple of hours at work, I was dreaming about the chicken. Then on the way home the Angel on my shoulder won the battle and I was able to pass on the chicken.

I’m surprised the Angel ever wins. He looks something like this……

Weight Statistics


Some of the weekend weight dropped off. Good thing I passed on the chicken. Once again today, my mind was set on some chicken. I talked myself out of it by agreeing to enjoy the free lunch tomorrow guilt free. 😀

I will be guilt free tomorrow no matter what! Well, maybe not. Within reason, guilt free.

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Turkey burger with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Baked chicken with salad

Snack – Turkey burger with cheese

Calories – 1450

I’m still liking the menu. Problem is those Butterball burgers are a little too tasty. No wonder with the zillion mgs of sodium per bite. 😛

Tip Of The Day!

I got nothing for you.

The fact that this exists really cracks me up. A play based on a bad movie based on the power of roller skating to disco.

Hmmmm… how can I tie that into a tip?

How about get a little exercise even if it is a weekly trip to the roller rink. Do they even still have skating rinks?

Don’t go overboard with the exercise and as it is well-known, I don’t believe it is necessary to do any exercise to lose weight, BUT a little exercise here and there can help make you healthier while you work on your weight. Just don’t go OVERBOARD!

Saturday – 171.5

I cracked and had a couple of donuts on Friday then I picked up chicken fajitas on the way home for dinner.

Saturday, I had jambalaya, hot dogs and chili, boiled crawfish with potatoes and corn followed by brownies, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream. I over did it. I felt like I was going to explode on the ride home.

Sunday, I regained my sanity and had my normal turkey burgers and baked chicken but the damage was already done.

The May Challenge

My diet appears to have been closed for the month of May.

In hindsight, May was probably not the best month to toss down the gauntlet with the wedding, Cinco De Mayo,  office party and Mother’s Day.  Although without the challenge I would probably be even higher up on the scale so the challenge helped kept me from going too crazy. Hopefully by next Monday I can at least get below 172. I don’t want to be on the PLUS side of the challenge. 😛

Tip Of The Day!

Be careful with cheats. They can spiral out of control real fast I had to fight myself all day yesterday to keep from grabbing some Popeye’s and more ice cream. That battle lasted from lunchtime all the way to 9pm. The devil on my shoulder kept telling me one more cheat wouldn’t hurt.

Thankfully, the angel won out.

Don’t let one cheat spiral out of control and ruin your diet. Get back to work!

Quick Post!

Tough day! Someone brought a cake and ice cream to the office. I initially passed. Then about 4pm I went and opened the freezer and gave the bucket of ice cream an angry look.

I passed again.


I was out this evening and I gave in and decided to get some ice cream…..

On the way, I changed my mind. Plus with donut day tomorrow and the big office party on Saturday, I don’t need to create additional misstep opportunities. Plenty of misstep opportunities already on the schedule.

I’m fairly aggravated that I am only down 2 pounds for the whole month of May. That first week really killed me getting up to 179. I’m pretty ticked off that I was down to 168.9 on Saturday but here I sit at 170.3 several days later without any cheats. 😛

Oh well, at least I didn’t make matters worse by slurping down a pint of ice cream.

That’s all for tonight. I am tired and very GRUMPY. 😛

Grumpy Day!

Why scale? Why do you hate me so???

Once again, I was expecting a drop but instead the evil scale gave me a bump up!

A whole pound up! After 1400 calories!

Angry!!! You won’t like me when I am angry.

Why oh why evil scale?


Don’t use a bad day on the scale as an excuse to go crazy. My brain tried to convince me that I might as well chow down on some fajitas. Luckily, I was able to avoid irrational eating although the FREE lunch tomorrow could be a problem.

Hopefully I can keep from going crazy on the free lunch so people won’t ask me the above question.

Darn scale better move in the right direction tomorrow or I will smash the thing into a million pieces. After which I will dance with glee…
