Case of the Mondays

That was waiting on the grazing table this morning. That is the King Cake that broke me last year. Yum! Nothing like a nice Pecan King Cake. Not this year. I didn’t eat any. Some of the Biggest Loser contestants did chow down.

There was also some candy on the grazing table. Whenever people drop junk on the table, I grab a few to add back to the candy jars at a later date. Not sure I will have the willpower to give the Baby Ruths away.  😛

This is going to be a very tempting week. I’m sure there will be other King Cakes. I have three Lunch & Learns this week along with the regularly scheduled Free Lunch Wednesday.  Tough week. 😛

I continue to worry about Mr. National Guard. He seems to be working even harder than he did last year. He has been skipping the popcorn hour.

Flawless Day Count – 23

Another slight dip this morning. I hope to break the stupid Monday Low pattern tomorrow.  I’ve had a great eating day so there is NO reason for my weight to go up tomorrow. NONE!

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Burger Patty with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1200

I’m just about out of supplies. I have some deer sausage someone from work made. I could use that for about 4 days. I would assume homemade deer sausage probably doesn’t have nearly as much sodium. Not sure about that. Plus I think he said it was jalapenos cheese deer sausage.  I tasted some at work a few weeks back and it was pretty tasty.

Not sure I have the energy to head to Sam’s this week. 😛

Weekend Report

I had a nice drop on Saturday and it held today. I thought I might bounce back up but I didn’t. I’m hoping the scale keeps putting up some nice numbers all week.

I want to break The Pattern. Sunday or Monday always seems to be my lowest weight of the week even if I behave the rest of the week. I’m hoping I break that pattern this week and the scale continues to move down all week.

I want to post a really nice number this week and maybe start to scare off the competition in the contest. This week I am interested to what kind of number Mr. National Guard hits. He was sick last week which aided his loss a bit . I also want to see if Jess rebounds this week to regain the lead.

Mardi Grass really should heat up the grazing table this week. I wouldn’t be surprised if multiple King Cakes started landing. I have a Lunch & Learn set up on Wednesday and I know a King Cake has been ordered for that meeting.

Last year, I think I had only one piece of King Cake for the whole Mardi Gras season. Maybe two, but I only remember one. This year I am not sure I am going to have any. It all depends on the Thursday weigh-in. If I build on my lead, I might allow myself one piece but if I am still neck and neck with the 2nd & 3rd place contenders, I won’t have any King Cake. 😦

Flawless Days – 22 Days

I had a really good eating weekend. No cheats at all. I did get a bit hungry Saturday night but I kept the cookie monster portion of my brain under control.

I’m hoping I can get rid of that .6 by Thursday. That would give me about a 3 pound loss for the week which should keep me in first place or near the top in the Office Contest.

Week 3 Results!

Oh yeah! I am in first place.

Not because the scale was particularly nice to me, but because the rest of the contestants had a rough week. More than half of the contestants gained weight this week.

I might need to remind them that we are trying to LOSE not GAIN weight. 😛

Jess who shot to first last week dropped to 3rd with a 4.05% total loss. Mr. National Guard continued a  steady pace and he is at 4.18%.  I only dropped 1.2 pounds this week but that was good enough for a total of 4.9%.

Flawless Days – 19 Days

I was furious this morning. 188! 3 straight days with small gains. I was at 187.2 on Monday. How in the heck does the scale move up on 1425, 1650 and 1200 calories?

The frown did turn upside down when the final results were in. I at least have a little breathing room and I now know the rest of the gang will make mistakes now and then. I’m still aiming for 90 flawless days but if I slip up it won’t be a disaster. I noticed plenty of people chowing down on the Italian Feast leftovers today.

The Bike

I actually did a very tiny ride last night. Not really worth mentioning other than I at least cleared the dust off the bike. 😛

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – None

Lunch – Turkey Caesar with no croutons and half the dressing

Dinner – Pork with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1200

I skipped breakfast for the weigh-in so by the time lunch rolled around I was really hungry. I had a committee meeting today which means FREE LUNCH.  The only safe menu item was a turkey caesar salad. I’m sure it was loaded with sodium and probably not much healthier than the sandwiches.

I tossed the cookie over by one of the contestants and he ate it. Along with his cookie. Along with another contestant’s cookie. 3 cookies. I think he might take another hit on the scale next week.

Have a great night!

Free Lunch Wednesday!

So far, this week has been temptation free. The grazing table has been empty. There was a king cake on the table Monday morning but it was gone before it had a chance to tempt me. All I saw was the wrapper.  I think it lasted about 15 minutes.  No other temptations until today.

This is a pic of the  remains of the Italian Feast around 1:00pm. Meatballs and spaghetti along with some lasagna and garlic bread.

I was able to stay away from the food although the smell of the garlic bread almost got me.  I did notice several Biggest Loser contestants loading up on meatballs and lasagna.   The scale will be rude to them tomorrow. That food is LOADED with salt. Even if they kept their calories in check, the sodium will cause a water gain tomorrow.

Along with the free lunch, I had other lunch time temptations.  I set up a Lunch & Learn which means we also had sandwiches.

I sat in a chair as far away from the sandwiches as possible so the cookie monster side of my brain couldn’t grab any. I didn’t.

I’ve been near flawless now for 21 days. I was hoping for a bigger loss this week but it doesn’t look like it is going to happen.

Yesterday’s Calorie Count – 1650

Flawless Days – 18

I wasn’t happy when I stepped on the scale this morning. I had a little bounce up. It looks like Monday is going to be my low weight for the week even though I have behaved the rest of the week.  I was hoping to break below 187 but that isn’t going to happen without a miracle.

Recent Menu

Monday – 1425 calories

Tuesday – 1650 calories

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Pork loin with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Hamburger with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1200

The almond snacks have actually worked out pretty good to this point. I’ve been able to keep from devouring all of them.  I think Pistachios would be gone by now, but I still have half of the almonds left.

The Bike

It has been ages since my last ride. I might jump on the bike to try to squeeze out some additional water before the Thursday weigh-in. I was hoping for a 2.5 pound loss on the office scale but I am not even close at the moment.

I guess we shall see tomorrow. Wish me luck. I hope the front runners didn’t continue their torrid pace.

Happy dieting, see you tomorrow

A Good Night

I was nervous about my trip to Casa Garcia. I was starving by the time I arrived at the restaurant and the second the basket of chips hit the table, the cookie monster side of my brain tried to take over.

I ordered the chicken with onions, peppers and avocados. Somehow I was able to keep my hand away from the chips and I didn’t touch the rice on my plate. I just ate the chicken, onions, peppers and avocados. It was a good night.

Flawless Day – 16

That was my reaction to the scale this morning. Dang thing finally decided to move in the right direction. I just hope the loss holds tomorrow and doesn’t fluctuate back up.

I need to drop another 1.5 pounds in the next 4 days.  I need at least a 2.5 pound drop this week to keep pace with the contest leaders.

Only 72 days to go. 😛

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Burger patty with cheese

Lunch – Pork loin with cheese

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snack – Almonds

Calories – 1250

The first two weeks of the contest, I had a nasty cold so I ate fruit most days to give me a bit of a vitamin boost. That cold is finally gone so I am dropping any additional fruit.

I’m hoping that I will get a nice easy water loss when I hit full Atkins.

The Contest

Mardi Gras started this weekend. I’m hoping some of the contestants decided to head out and party with plenty of booze and food.   King Cakes will start appearing with more frequency this week or so I hope.  I need the other contestants to slip up. 😛

I need at least a 2.5 pound drop this week to keep up the pace with the rest of the gang.  That pace is going to be tough. Last year, I was only able to drop about 1.2 pounds each week after the first couple. I did cheat some last year and I don’t plan to cheat at all this year.  72 miserable days to go. 😛
