The scale dipped a bit this morning but I am still up from my low point. In fact, I am still one pound heavier than last Saturday morning.

Stinking blackberry cobbler Ice Cream.

Barring a miracle, I won’t drop any weight this week. In fact, I will probably be up on the week.

Today’s Menu

Holy Smokes! It was a tough day at work. Free lunch Wednesday almost tripped me up. Today was baked chicken, hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, baked potato slices, spinach salad, green beans and lots of buttered french bread. I got in line but felt my willpower wavering so I left.

Then I got back in line. Wavered again.

By this point, I had a seminar to set up and attend so I headed to the conference room where a giant tray of poboys was hanging out. 😛

Once the meeting was over, I headed back up to the kitchen and gave the hamburger steak a long hard look.

I decided I needed to grab some salad and run!

Breakfast – Pork loin with cheese

Lunch – Spinach salad

Dinner – Baked chicken with salad

Snack – Pork loin, Pistachios

Calories – 1400

I could have tried the baked chicken at lunch but everything is always so loaded with salt I end up gaining weight even when I think I did a good job.

During the popcorn break at 3pm {didn’t eat any} someone grabbed half a loaf of french bread and dipped it in leftover gravy.

I’m feeling like Violet

4 days of high sodium and high calorie food has me blown up like poor Violet.

The good news is that I didn’t eat a single bite at the Office Christmas Party. The bad news is that I was stuffed from polishing off the chicken wings. My plan was to toss out the leftover wings on Friday night but somehow they ended up in the fridge.

The end result of the last 4 days was a GIANT spike up  on the scale.

6,5 pounds up since Wednesday morning. 😛

Oh well, I had a good day today.

I hope the sodium gains start to drop off tomorrow but it is possible I creep up a little more before the scale starts moving back down.

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Eggs with cheese

Lunch – Chicken with salad

Dinner – Chicken with salad

Snack – Cheese

Calories – 1350

I should be able to behave from now until Thursday at which point the Office Christmas Lunch will probably rock the boat.  From that point it will be a roller coaster ride to the new year. 😀

Tip Of The Day

 

Once you reach maintenance, you need to set a panic weight limit. Anything over or near that weight amount and you need to press the panic button and get back to work.

For me it is 175. No matter what, if I hit that weight, I immediately go back to Atkins and typically don’t stop until I get back to 165.

I don’t think I will hit the panic weight because I’m done with any cheats until Thursday. 😛

I doubt I will be able to get back to 165 before Thursday but I might behave on Thursday because I know I won’t behave on Christmas Eve or Christmas day.

Once you reach your goal, you need to keep weighing yourself and if you get near that panic weight, get back to work.  If you don’t, that weight can shoot up on you and catch you by surprise real fast.

Another tick up. Not sure what is going on at the moment. I had a good caloric day. I did eat a ton of chicken from Walmart that was heavy on the sodium. Darn sodium has me loaded with extra water.

Looks like Shonnie is going to crush me in the T-Giving Weight Challenge and it won’t even be close. Heck, unless things start moving in the right direction, I might not even have any loss at all. 😛

Yesterday’s Menu

Breakfast – Bacon and eggs

Lunch – Rotisserie chicken with salad

Dinner – Rotisserie chicken with salad

Snack – Chicken

Overloaded on the chicken which was high in sodium so I’m actually surprised I didn’t tick up a little higher.

Calories – 1350

Biking – 0

Net Calories – 1350

Bad sodium day but a good calorie day.

Biking Update

Day Off.  No way I would have headed to the levee yesterday. It was a beautiful day but the wind was steady at 20 to 25 mph. Nope, not going into that wind.

Tip Of The Day

Some may disagree but I think it is not only ok to go a bit crazy on Thanksgiving but I would actually encourage it.

I believe my diet was finally successful this time because from Day 1, I decided I would be able to eat whatever I wanted over the holidays and I would be able to eat whatever I wanted when I go out with friends and family, as long as I limit those outings.

Just don’t make the celebration run from Thursday into the next day and beyond. Get back to work the second you wake on Friday.

Last year, I did skip the dessert but not this year. I’m around my goal so I am going yo fully celebrate the T-Giving meal.  😀

I was watching some Joy of Painting last night and fell asleep and missed writing my blog for the first time since I started in February. 😛

Darn you Bob with your sleep inducing voice!!!

I keep falling asleep way too early at night which then causes me to be up and wide awake at 4 am which then makes me fall asleep early. I’m stuck in a vicious sleep cycle. 😛

I dropped some weight Wednesday and I dropped another pound today. I am now 1 pound from my low of 163.5.

I need to make sure I don’t go crazy at lunch today. I’m going out for lunch. As per my tip, I have picked my lunch from the online menu, but I need to make sure I don’t touch the menu once I get into the restaurant.

Yesterday’s Meal Plan

Breakfast – Turkey burger with cheese

Breakfast 2 – Bacon and eggs with cheese

Lunch – Tuna with salad

Dinner – Baked chicken with salad

Snack – cheese sticks, baked chicken

Calories – 1681

Biking – 466

Net Calories – 1215

It is a good thing I fell asleep early because I ate all of my meals by 4pm.  That includes snacks. I would have been starved last night If I hadn’t fallen asleep and I am not sure my lunch today would have kept me from a cheat. Especially since I am not counting this lunch as  a planned cheat. I am going to get a grilled shrimp salad.

Biking Update

With my dad back at his home and out of the hospital, I felt safe heading up to the levee (no longer had an excuse :P).

The wind was fine when I left but by the time I headed home it had really picked up. The final three miles were a real pain. Go Away Wind!

Road Marker 410 – 10 miles

I may once again violate Always Off Thursday. I haven’t decided yet, but it is the only way to get 4 rides done this week.

Tip Of The Day

As  I mentioned above. I have already selected my meal for my big lunch today. My step dad suggested a restaurant and I jumped online to see if they had a menu, which they did. Not too many things that are remotely healthy on that menu but they do have a grilled shrimp Caesar.

That is just step one.

Step two is not touching the menu once inside the restaurant. I fail at step two almost every single time which then causes me to fail in following through with my choice from step 1.

We are going to a restaurant that specializes in lots of fried seafood so the aroma may be overpowering once I am seated.

If you are going to a restaurant with friends, family or coworkers try to steer the group to a healthier restaurant and if that fails try to steer them to a restaurant with an online menu so you can find the best option.

When you arrive at the restaurant, DO NOT READ THE MENU! The aroma of fresh cooked naughty food will make it very difficult for you to stick to your approved choice. If you open that menu, suddenly the fried seafood platter with french fries will seem like a perfectly sensible healthy option.

I know. This is a tip I have a HUGE problem sticking too. I always check the menu online but seldom stick to my choice once I get inside the restaurant.

I’ve got Shonnie and Ed breathing down my neck in the T-Giving competition so I need to behave today. 😀
