Big Pile of Temptations

The morning started with several big bags of beignets. None for me!

5 trays of fried shrimp, hot roast beef, ham & cheese, turkey & cheese and pastrami & cheese poboys. I had the fun task of picking them up. The smell of the fried shrimp was overpowering!

After the devouring hoard demolished the food. None for me! Those sandwiches hung around all day. Oh, on top of all of those temptations, we had plenty of leftover meatballs and lasagna.

The Menu

Breakfast – Angus burger with cheese

Lunch – Pistachios

Dinner – Tuna and salad

Snacks – Chicken, pistachios

Calories – 1250

Rats! Another pistachio violation!

The Bike

My legs were a little bit better tonight. 51 minutes for 12.7 miles.

Now on to the important news of the day. Nothing much to report on the scale. It didn’t budge an inch from yesterday so I am down 13.8 pounds since the competition started. Speaking of which….

fa00f-the-biggest-loser-pinoy-edition

Gail     – 6.30%
Me       – 6.06%
Mr. B  – 5.22%
Kman  – 4.70%
Cap      – 3.94%
Cindy  – 3.18%

I dropped 3 pounds this week and Gail only dropped 1 pound. She stayed in first place but I pulled much closer to her. Now the head games start. Did she really only drop 1? Did she wear heavy clothes or drink tons of water in order to hide her real drop? 😛

Mr. B continues to work hard.  Heck, if I don’t catch Gail, I am not even assured second if Mr. B continues to run and run and run. I have to keep hitting it and hitting it hard.

In order to win, I think I need to drop 3 pounds a week for the last two weeks. 6 more pounds and I might take the crown. Only problem is I don’t think I can lose that much in the last 2 weeks. I’ll give it my all. Just  two more miserable weeks.

Happy Dieting, see you tomorrow

A Bit Worried

I broke out the old spreadsheet and based on Gail’s current pace, it isn’t possible to catch her. Unless she slips up, the spreadsheet calculations show that I can’t catch her without seriously ramping up my loss which isn’t possible.  She has moved from solid food to shakes so I don’t see her slowing her pace at all.

The office Thanksgiving lunch is the week before Thanksgiving, so I only have a little over two weeks to catch her.

Even if I can’t catch her, I should take the Top Male category for a $100.00 gift card and $80.00. I haven’t given up. In fact, I’m going to push things harder for the last 2 weeks.

The Bike

47 Minutes  – 11.6  Miles

My goal is to get up to 60 minutes by the end of the competition. Once the competition is over I will drop to 3 or 4 rides a week and hopefully keep that up through the end of the year.

The Menu

Breakfast – Angus burger with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Tuna with salad

Snacks – Pistachios, chicken

Calories – 1150

I’m still worried a bit about the carbs in the chicken. I guess I could wash off the sauce but then it wouldn’t taste so good. 😛

Weight Statistics

I need the scale to drop like that chart! What I really need is for the stupid weekly pattern to disappear and stay away for the remainder of the competition.

Daily Loss – .4 of a pound

Total Loss – 13.4 pounds

At least for today, the stupid pattern didn’t rear its ugly head. It sure as shootin better not reappear tomorrow after 11.6 miles on the bike!

Rest for the Weary

I didn’t want to take a break Thursday but my body made me take a break Friday. I fell asleep after dinner and didn’t wake up until midnight at which point I went back to sleep.  I think I slept from around 7pm until 9am.  😛

Weight Statistics

Friday Loss – .6 pounds

Saturday Loss – 1 pound

Total loss – 12.6 pounds

I’m having a solid weight loss weekend but I don’t think I will hit a low tomorrow. I think I am a tad dehydrated so I might be up a bit tomorrow with all the hydrating I did today.

The Menu

I’m playing with fire. I’ve been bored with the snacks I have so my brain forced me to grab pistachios. I’ve kept to 1 pack a day for the first two days, but it wasn’t smart to buy those.

Breakfast – Angus burger with cheese

Lunch – Chicken

Dinner – Angus burger with salad

Snack – Pistachios, chicken

Calories – 1350

Wasn’t in the mood for tuna tonight.

The Bike

Finished my ride about 1/2 hour ago. I had to get to it early because I’m off to see a movie in a few minutes. My legs were a bit stronger today after taking Friday off.

44 minutes – 10.85 miles

Gotta run!

Hamstrung!

I was awfully sore this morning and into the afternoon. I’m surprised it took two weeks to show up. That soreness had the Cookie Monster portion of my brain telling me to take the night off. Relax. Maybe have some COOKIES!

Nope!

The Bike

I did procrastinate until the absolute last-minute so it may take a while for me to fall asleep tonight. I did pull off 10.55 miles with the sore hammies.

The Menu

Breakfast – Angus burger with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Tuna with salad

Snacks – Chicken, string cheese

Calories – 1200

Since I am burning more calories than I thought, I probably need to squeeze some additional calories in at breakfast. Not sure what, but I need to add a few calories.

Weight Statistics

angry_faceI had good drops over the weekend so I was overdue for a nice phantom gain. Today was the day!

Daily Loss – Up 3/10 of a pound

Total Loss – 10.9 pounds

Not a terrible spike up, so I am not too upset. I will be tomorrow if the scale creeps up more or doesn’t start working back DOWN!

Mr. B was in first place and he said he was up 5 this morning after his anniversary weekend. He will drop that by the Thursday weigh-in but I doubt he will lose much more than that.

Kman was in third place last week and he claims he had a dismal weekend of eating everything in sight. We shall see. They could be playing head games with me. 😛

NeckAndNeck600px72dpiI think this horse race will come down to me and Gail. She will pull a good but not great number every week. Steady as she goes wins the long race. Not sure it will win this short sprint of a competition.

Weekend Update

Weekend

Flawless. Not a single thing I can complain about. I kept the calories in check every day and I rode 10 miles a day. Perfect. Let’s just hope the scale continues to reflect that hard work.

Weight Statistics

Daily Loss – 1 pound

Total Loss – 11.2

I was pleasantly surprised by that drop this morning. I was actually expecting the scale to bounce up a bit. Now, I just need to hope the scale doesn’t move up the rest of the week. Last contest, there was a pattern with my lowest weight being on the weekend, then slowly creeping up the rest of the week. I don’t have time for that.

The Menu

Breakfast – Angus burger with cheese

Lunch – Angus burger with salad

Dinner – Tuna with salad

Snack – Chicken

Calories – 1380

Solid eating day. The chicken is a nice change of pace. Love the burgers. Not a fan of the tuna.

The Bike

I was reading up on cardio and target heart rates and using the heart rate calculator to estimate calories burned. I came to the realization I was GROSSLY underestimating my calories burned. I mean not even close. I ride at about 15 miles an hour for 40 minutes and my heart rate is 140 to 160 for almost the whole trip.  If it averages about 140, then that would burn up 600 calories. Far more than the 200 I was estimating using the evidently garbage info from the bike.

Today, my plan was to ride the bike while watching the Saints game. I wanted to get the ride done as early as possible so I wouldn’t have any trouble getting to sleep tonight. Unfortunately, the plan didn’t materialize. I didn’t hit the bike until 6pm.

10.1 miles today. I was worn out by the time I hit 41 minutes. That was enough for the day. Hope I can get to sleep on time tonight.

Happy dieting, see you tomorrow
