Not much movement on the scale so far this week. I need to get cracking because I will be chowing down on some good eats on Saturday night.

I guess the good news is that the scale hasn’t moved up and I am on my 4th good day in a row. At some point my weekend errors should drop off.

Today’s Menu

Yes Virginia, There is a Free Lunch!

I needed to skip Free Lunch Wednesday and thanks to the menu, it was pretty easy. We had beef stew and grilled chicken with mixed vegetables. Neither looked very appetizing so it wasn’t hard to skip.

I’ve got a tough test tomorrow. We have a safety seminar and they are breaking out the good poboys, fried shrimp and hot roast beef. Both are really tasty. I plan to skip the poboys….. Yeah, I plan…that’s the ticket! πŸ˜›

Breakfast – Hamburger patty with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1200

Not sure how I will get through Donut Friday. My sweet tooth has been screaming at me. πŸ˜›

Weight Statistics

323 – Start/190.1 – Current/175 – Goal – Home Scale

Day 11 of 90

I dropped to 190.1 on Saturday and held onto the same weight this morning. Not sure how that is even possible to hold onto the exact same weight. I was hoping to say goodbye to the 90s but I guess I have at least one more day before that happens. I hope I haven’t stumbled onto a plateau.

I don’t think this is a real plateau and I am expecting a drop tomorrow. OR ELSE!!! πŸ˜›

Today was the first day in almost 1 week that I felt somewhat decent. My nose appears to be on the mend. I was still a little bit stuffy but nothing like the last several days.Β  I would say I am about 85% today. AfterΒ  a good nights sleep, I am hoping to be feeling about 100% tomorrow.

Saturday’s Calorie Count – 1475

Friday was easy but Saturday was rough. I was starving all day and night. My brain tried to convince me that ice cream was a perfectly acceptable weight loss tool. I fought off the urge by slowly eating an extra portion of almonds.

Sunday’s Menu

Breakfast – None

Lunch – Hamburger with cheese

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snack – Almonds

Calories – 1375

So far the almonds haven’t tempted me too much. I’ve had 2 portions a day since I bought the bag. Each portion has 180 calories and 100 mgs of sodium.

If I make it through the night without cheats, that will be 11 flawless days in a row. 79 to go! I can’t wait for the weigh-in this week to see who kept up the good work and who folded like a cheap suit. πŸ˜›

I need to keep the flawless streak going. I’ve got a nice calendar on my desk and I keep crossing the days off. It makes the diet slightly easier when I can see the start and end date and cross days off. 79 miserable days and then I should be back to where I want to be with a nice first prize award. πŸ˜€

Mardi Gras season will really start to heat up soon which means lots of King Cakes on the grazing table.

The old school King Cakes like the one above don’t tempt me much. Those are similar to a slightly sweet french bread with a colored sugar on top. The King Cakes that are like stuffed cinnamon rolls are the ones that will give me fits.

I would have a very tough time avoiding a blueberry cream cheese king cake. Very tough time indeed. πŸ˜›

Are You kidding Me!!!

That would be how I started the morning. I hit Baker’s Dozen at 6am to pick up the Friday Donuts. 2 dozen glazed, one mixed and one mixed cake.Β  4 free blueberry cake. I thought long and hard about taking the bag of blueberry cake to my office. Yes, I did. However, in the end I walked away.

At 2pm, there was still a whole box of donuts and magically a Doberge Cake appeared on the table. So did a dozen sweet potato drop biscuits.

For some inexplicable reason, someone also put out a GIANT SALAD.Β  I turned my head for a single second and…….

Someone snuck some chips and salsa on the table. Salty and sweet well represented by the evil grazing table.

I was victorious!!!

I didn’t touch anything. Not a single bite. Not a single crumb. Nothing. I’m not even sure how I was able to maintain control especially given my sour mood.Β  The mood was sour because for day 8, I am the same weight. I’ve been on plateaus before but this is getting a bit crazy. I’ve had 10 straight good diet days and I’ve had plenty of exercise. Yet the evil scale is thumbing its nose at me.

I can’t cheat at home tonight without some work. Everything is frozen. I need to do some cooking tomorrow. Plus I am too tired to sneak out for ice cream. πŸ˜›

Screeching to a halt

I feel a plateau coming. I’ve had almost 3 flawless weeks and the weight is starting to drizzle off. The scale barely moved a notch today. Just a tiny drop of .2 of a pound. I guess that is still a 1.4 pound a week drop but I’ll never keep up with you ladies and gents at that rate.

I haven’t completely crashed to a halt but I think tomorrow will be the first day with zero loss. In fact, I ate a little too much fresh pork loin this evening and I used a bit too much Tony C so the scale might even creep up tomorrow.

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Pork loin with cheese

Lunch – Chicken with cheese

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snack – Pork loin and pistachios

Calories – 1400

I’m out of pistachios. My 12 day supply only lasted 8.5 days. Actually, for tasty snack food, I think I did pretty good making them last 8.5 days. The Wasabi Almonds and Wasabi peas never lasted that long. SO…. even though I have always hated tiny individual packages, they did help me with portion control.

I’m going to be snackless for a while because still have 2 bags of chicken breasts and half a pork loin left. I might go to the store tonight or tomorrow but I hate going to the store unless it is for a full-blown load up. I do need to gas up the car which I usually do at Sam’s so I might as well reload on snacks.

EDITED: Back from the store with 2 boxes of pistachios. Nice to make an impromptu trip to the store without grabbing some ice cream. πŸ˜€

I’m feeling a little lazy tonight so I won’t be posting the weekly results until tomorrow. Plus I am still WAITING on some of you to post your results. Looking your way Shonnie, MS, Testy and a few others.

Grumpy Man Coffee Mug Competition Rules!

1. Everyone must weigh-in by Friday the 27th.
