Back to Work! This time I really do mean it!

I’ve been gone forever and I do know which direction I’ve been going.

The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing.
And they’re certainly not showing
any signs that they are slowing!

I need to SLOW down!

I’ve been shooting up up and away like a rocket and I need to finally retake control. I let stress get the better of me for about 3 months and did some serious damage. Just a big pile of wrong choices.

bowl of wrong

At work we have been kicking around the idea of a Fall Biggest Loser Competition but some people want to hold off until after Christmas. We are also trying to come up with a maintenance competition because we all put the weight back on in record time this year.

I can no longer wait. I need to get back to work and I need to try to get this weight off before the end of the year! 😛

The Scale

Not going to post that for a LONG LONG LONG time.

Day 7!!!Substitute the computer for my scale and this is what I felt like doing. I need to get back to daily weighing. Just too easy for things to spiral out of control if I don’t!

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – None

Lunch – Turkey Caesar

Dinner – Burger patty with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1350

I’m out of everything. I need to get to the store but I don’t see that happening until Thursday after work. I do have some burgers and salad but not much. I think I can stretch everything until Thursday.

I need to get back to skipping all of the ridiculous food at work. Also need to get back to skipping the free lunch, free donuts, free cake, free free free free!!! And the bike needs to figure into the equation.;

Happy Dieting, see you TOMORROW

Carb Meltdown!

I’ve been in a carb free for all for the last 2 weeks!

I didn’t have pancakes or cornbread, but Ice Cream was well represented the last couple of weeks.

I went over board with everything. I didn’t eat any pizza. That is about the only thing I didn’t eat. I had some Chinese food. Hit up some Mexican twice. Popeye’s chicken and biscuits made an appearance. Taco Bell said hello.

Needless to say the scale is not very happy with me.

Weight Statistics

323/185/175

I was down to 176 before the wheels fell off. Time to get back to work. I finally made it to the store and purchased safe carb free meals. I dumped the beef burgers and loaded up on turkey burgers.

Someone tossed some pizza on the grazing table and my brain tried to convince me to restart tomorrow. I was able to hold back the cookie monster side of my brain. Finally! 😛

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Turkey burger with cheese

Those burgers up above sure do look a lot better than the butterball burgers. 😛

Lunch – None

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snack – Almonds, Turkey burger

Calories – 1300

I need another good day tomorrow and then the carb cravings should lessen a bit. At the moment, I want ice cream!!!

Interesting!

No ice cream until I am back below 175.  That might take a while. I’m sure some water weight will drop off but I put some real weight back on with all the carb munching.

Oh well, Back at it. Also need to get back to the bike which I’ve only been saying for 2 months. 😛

Happy Dieting, see you soon

Need To Put The Brakes On!!!

I need to pull the emergency brake!

After winning the contest last week, I’ve been on a bit of a carb rampage.  That hasn’t been good for the scale.

Weight Statistics

323/177/175

I’m up a good bit from last week. I’ve been hitting the carbs hard.  The good news is that I have cleaned out all of the carbs in my apartment. The bad news is they all went into my belly!

I haven’t had any cornbread in over 3 years. I really haven’t had  very much bread of any type in 3 years.  I planned to make cornbread when the contest was over. I didn’t plan on making two giant skillets of cornbread. Somehow a second jalapenos cornbread appeared in my kitchen a couple of nights ago. 😛

Cornbread

Along with the cornbread, I hit the ice cream hard. I saved that Mardi Gras ice cream for when the contest was over and I destroyed that Blue Bell ice cream.

New Week, Same Results

As I said, the bad eating is just about over. I am going to lunch with my sister on Saturday but I should be able to behave tomorrow and Sunday. Hopefully by Monday, the scale will start moving in the right direction.

Thanks to TestingTrueChange for pulling me back to the blog. I always give him some grief when he disappears so he returned the favor. 😀

A link to his blog is over there to the right somewhere. He has done a great job at a young age to reign his weight under control.

Menu

I just got back from Sam’s and I loaded up on my normal Atkins diet food, so I should be right back at it tomorrow. I loaded up on pork loin, salad, and hamburger meat.

I Just wish I could get a better grip on moderation when cheating. That trick still eludes me.

I also need to get back to my normal bike riding regimen. It should be a little easier now that I can have a few extra calories.

Short post tonight. I’ll get back to at least 3 to 4 posts a week. I just needed a week off after the 84 day contest. I still don’t know how Rich dropped 8 pounds in the last week and almost beat me. 😛

Happy Dieting, see you soon

Weekend Recap

Pretty flawless weekend. In fact, I couldn’t have done any better.

Weight Statistics

Saturday – 176.5

Sunday

323/176.1/175
Low – 160.5 / Re-fattening Peak – 206
Contest Starting Weight {office scale} – 200.2
Current Weight {office scale} – 180.2
Current Competition Loss – 20.0
Day 67 of 90
Flawless Days – 60
Contest Cheats – 3

Really big drop from Friday to Saturday.I figured I would probably be up a bit this morning but I was actually down. 😀

It will be interesting to see if I move up some tomorrow or if I can hold onto 176.1 or even drop more.

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Burger patty with cheese and jalapenos

Lunch – Pork loin

Dinner – Pork loin with cheese

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1300

Seems, I’ve finally found a snack I can eat without cheating. I like the almonds but not enough that I want to polish off more than the 2 allotments per day. 😛

The Stationary Bike

Rich’s 3 pound drop last week has me nervous. I can’t compete with that kind of drop if he can continue to lose that much. I finally broke down and decided I need to hit the stationary bike. It might cost me if I start putting on some leg muscle.  I guess we shall see.

Friday – 15 minutes, lvl03, 3.7 miles, 67 calories

Saturday – 20.5 minutes, lvl03, 4.95 miles, 100 calories

Sunday – 26 minutes, lvl03, 5.95 miles, 125 calories

My brain decided I needed to work out but my legs and heart weren’t too excited. I couldn’t do much on Friday. Did a little better on Saturday and Sunday. I just need a little additional progress each day.  17 days to go!

More Good Than Bad

I’ve been pretty flawless for the last 2 months and I’ve dropped about 20 pounds in the diet competition. Last year, I had several Free Lunch Wednesday hiccups and I dropped about 19 pounds.  The moral of the story is that you can have a few mistakes here and there and still lose weight as long as you have more good days than bad.

The damage from the fried shrimp and cake is already a thing of the past. As of this morning, the weight gain is gone and I have a 1 pound loss from my low Thursday morning.

Free Lunch Wednesday!!!

Weight Statistics

323/177.5/175
Low – 160.5 / Re-fattening Peak – 206
Contest Starting Weight {office scale} – 200.2
Current Weight {office scale} – 181.0
Current Competition Loss – 19.0
Day 60 of 90
Flawless Days – 53!
Contest Cheats – 2!

I imagine the normal weekly pattern will kick in and I will be up tomorrow. I just hope it is a small bounce up and nothing major. I didn’t exactly believe the scale when is showed me 177.5 so I reset the scale 2 more times and it kept coming up 177.5.  With almost 4 weeks to go, I am only 2.5 pounds from my contest goal.   Once again Atkins has helped me drop a big pile of weight. I’m down almost 30 from my re-fattening up to 206.

This year I need to keep it off instead of bouncing up and down.  Not an easy feat with all of the food in the office. 😛

Darn website is acting wonky!

For some reason, it won’t let me post animated gifs today. Oh well. I guess it will be a low tech Sunday post.

Today’s Menu

peppers

Breakfast – Burger patty with jalapeno and cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories -1200

My sodium is still under 1500 even with the peppers so “in theory” they shouldn’t cause any water problems.

The Bike Decision

kennyLazyBikeS

No bike until the contest is over. Looking back to when I purchased the stationary bike, my weight stalled a bit when I was riding it regularly. I was cheating a bit with the food but the bike was probably increasing my hunger a bit which led to the cheats. With less than 4 weeks to go in the contest, I’m not going to take any risks by adding another variable into the equation. No bike.   Once the contest is over, I will resume the bike riding, but not until that time. 😛

Happy Dieting, see you later
