Is it over yet?

Getting a little tired of the mean scale. Once again I was the same weight Sunday, Monday and Tuesday! I didn’t have anything nice to say on Monday or Tuesday so I didn’t post.  I did have a good drop this morning so here I am.

Weight Statistics

Daily Loss – 1.7 pounds

Total Loss – 17.2 pounds

Just praying the scale doesn’t bounce back up after such a big one day drop. I needed to lose 4 pounds this week to catch Gail. At the moment I am at 3.4.  I can’t afford the scale to move up. I would like to see a drop down, but I will settle with the scale holding firm on the number this morning.

The Menu

Breakfast – Angus burgers with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Tuna with salad

Snacks – Burger with cheese

Calories – 1200

Lots of temptations today. The free lunch wasn’t too exciting. Stewed chicken, hamburger steak and mashed potatoes.  However, I had a lunch and learn and we had a tray of poboys and a tray of cookies and brownies.

I was really taking a long hard look at the brownies. The poboys didn’t bug me too much but the cookies and brownies were screaming at me.

None for me!

The Bike

Monday – 48 minutes – 12.1 miles

Tuesday – Nope

Wednesday – 50 minutes – 12.6 miles

I hopped on the bike Tuesday night, but my heart and legs weren’t in it. I decided I needed a break. 26 of 29 days I hit the bike so a few breaks are warranted.

The contest could be over tomorrow. I all depends on Gail’s number. If she has a big day then there is no way I can catch her. If she hits 2 pounds, I am in trouble. The contest ends next Wednesday. We have our office Thanksgiving party. I can’t wait!

Wish me luck!

Happy Dieting, see you tomorrow

Sabotage!

Last night, I wondered if Cindy would use her lunch ordering duties to sabotage the group. Today actually wasn’t bad but she let it slip that next week is the MEXICAN FEAST. In almost two years, we have had the MEXICAN FEAST once.

She claims it was a request for a birthday, but I find it suspicious. One time in almost two years then suddenly BOOM! She was also very smart not to have it this week. Wait a good 10 days into the competition then hit people with enchiladas, tacos, tamales, burritos, rice & beans with some chips and guacamole.

Mexican food is my weakness. Well, that and Ice Cream. Oh and corn bread. I’ve got plenty of vacation left with just 2 1/2 months left in the year so I think I see a 1/2 of vacation coming next Wednesday.

Office Biggest Loser Comp

A couple of people pushed hard to move the weigh-in day from Monday to Thursday so they will have extra incentive to skip or behave on Wednesday. I didn’t want to go all the way from this past Monday until next Thursday without a weigh-in, so I agreed to switch to Thursday but we will start with this Thursday not next Thursday. There was some whining from a couple of people who did not behave today.

One guy is already wanting to quit. 3 days in and he asked if he could quit. I said nope! Mr. National Guard is having a tough time getting back into healthier eating. On top of the free lunch today and 3pm popcorn, he also bought some McDonald’s.  He was tough competition and he had me worried  back in the 2012 Comp, but not this time.

The Bike

19 minutes for 4.6 miles. Need to stay on for longer, but that is all I had in me tonight.

The Menu

Breakfast – Turkey burger with cheese

Lunch – 2 baked chicken thighs with salad

Dinner – 2 baked chicken thighs with salad

Snack – String cheese

Calories -1400

I’m pretty happy with the Free Lunch Wednesday results. Along with the baked chicken, we also had red beans and rice with sausage and super spicy sausage. Normally I tell myself I will have a few pieces of sausage. Then a few more, then a few more, then a few more and at that point I get frustrated and get a big bowl of red beans and rice to go with some more hot sausage.

Not this time. I stuck to the chicken and salad and avoided any eye contact with the hot sausage. It was calling me…..

but I didn’t listen to the siren song this week. Richard tried to coax me into have a few tasty morsels. Nope.

With only 6 weeks, there really isn’t any room for error. Any mistake and Gail will cruise to victory. Heck, even with no mistakes she might cruise to victory. I never see her cheat at work during the office comps.

Weight Statistics

Daily Loss – 1 Pounds

Comp Total – 3 Pounds

Actually not happy with that at all. Sure 3 pounds in 3 days isn’t bad, but given the massive drop in sodium levels and switching to low carb, I figured I would have cleared out a LOT more water weight. Mr.B said he dropped 6 pounds the first day. I guess we will see tomorrow if that is true.

Happy Dieting, see you Friday

And They’re Off!

2 more contestants weighed-in today for a total off 11 people in the biggest loser competition. I’m not scared! Based on the 11, there are only 2 people I am remotely concerned with. Gail, she won the last time she was in the Office Biggest Loser competition. Richard probably would have won back in March if the comp had gone on 1 more week. He was sprinting to the finish while I was screeching to a halt.

I’m not sure how the shorter time frame will play out. Only 6 weeks instead of 12. No room for mistakes. I don’t know if I can go 6 cheat free weeks but I probably have to go pretty close to that to beat Gail. When she gets serious, she never cheats. Never touches any of the office food. I might be more than a little grumpy by the time this competition is over.

Weight Statistics

Good start !

Daily Loss – 1.9 pounds

Total – 1.9 pounds

The guy who pushed me to start the competition dropped 6! Still not worried. He really doesn’t have much to lose and usually once he hits 175, he starts maintaining at that point. Percentage wise, I don’t see him being able to lose much more. His drop will scare Gail into bunker mode so we are going to have a spirited race to the gold.

Cindy started the sabotage. She brought me a slice of pizza after lunch. I then took the Pizza and put it on Mr. National Guard’s desk. He ate it. Last year, he was tough to beat. Not so much this year. His head isn’t in the game.

The Bike

Only had a little more in the tank tonight. 4.2 miles. Need to get back to 10. I need to delve into the archive and see how long it took me to get up to 10 miles back when I bought the bike.

The Menu

Breakfast – Turkey burger with cheese

Lunch – None

Dinner – Chicken with salad

Snacks – string cheese, turkey burger

Calories – 1200

Had to skip the Seminar lunch on Monday, then the webinar lunch today. Tomorrow, I need to hide from Free Lunch Wednesday. The lady in charge of picking the lunch is in the competition. It will be interesting if she picks healthy lunches for the next 6 weeks or if she picks the worst items on the menu to sabotage the competition. She is the one who brought me the pizza. 😛

I do need to find some additional low carb items to eat. I can’t eat 2 turkey burgers a day because they are LOADED with salt. The Jenni-O burgers aren’t high in sodium like the Butterball burgers. However, the Jenni-o burgers are full of broth, fall apart and shrink tremendously on cooking. They also don’t taste like turkey. The Butterball burgers taste like turkey but have about 800 mgs of sodium per burger.

I’m going to keep eating the burgers until I get used to the lower calories. Maybe the first week and then I can try to add something else. It needs to be easy to make, not much of a mess and it needs to keep well in the fridge for a while. Can’t be eggs or Pork Loin!

Happy Dieting, see you tomorrow

Wednesday Report

Last week, the wheels fell off on Wednesday when the free lunch derailed me.  Then I carried that over all the way through Saturday.  I need to have a MUCH better Wednesday this week.

What was for lunch?

Up this week, bbq chicken, fried chicken, mac & cheese, buttered bread, green beans and salad. I was going to skip everything but I started to crack so I grabbed some salad.

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – None

Lunch – Chef salad

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1200

Given the problems I’ve had with the last few Wednesdays, I am happy with how things went today. Good job on the diet front the last 3 days but after 4 weeks of goofing off, the scale has not been nice. Stupid scale!

Weight Statistics

323/181/175

I’m still up about 10 since the competition ended March 28th. No cheats until I get back down to my goal weight of 175.  In theory it shouldn’t take me too long to get back down to 175 as long as I can keep my paws off the cornbread. 😛

I do have a family lunch on Friday, but I think I should be able to order something Atkins friendly.

The Bike

At some point I need to get back on that bike just not tonight.  😀

Happy dieting, see you soon

Aggravated!!!

The stupid pattern of Monday being my lowest weight re-materialized. I was all the way down to 175.4 on Monday, easily headed for a 3 pound drop. Then I crept back up to 176.6 for no reason. Very frustrating and aggravating with Rich closing in on me in the Office Competition.

Oh….

I was all set to post last night but I was so tired I forgot what I was doing at the computer so I went to sleep. 😛

Weight Statistics

323/176.2/175
Low – 160.5 / Re-fattening Peak – 206
Contest Starting Weight {office scale} – 200.2
Current Weight {office scale} – 178.6
Current Competition Loss – 21.6
Day 71 of 90
Flawless Days – 64
Mediocre Days -3
Contest Cheats – 3

As you can see, I was able to get down to 176.2 but it still irks me I was almost a pound lower on Monday. 😛

Angry Tuesday!

The Contest

I was only able to drop 1.6 pounds this week on the office scale. That should be decent but another Herculean effort by Rich propelled him almost ahead of me. A mere .13% separates us now.  He dropped ANOTHER 3 pounds.

The Top 5

21.6 10.79%

25.2 10.66%

16.0 6.63%

16.8 6.61%

8.8 6.55%

I might lose my perch at the top next week!

Rich  has a commanding lead in the total weight loss and I have a very slim total % loss. I’m doomed. I don’t know how he has pulled out back to back 3 pound loses but if he has another one next week it is all over except for the crying.

I thought I had my effort cranked about as high as I could go but it looks like I will have to crank the intensity to the seldom used 11.

LE used his free pass and Jess didn’t weigh in. And then there were two. I do not want second place. I’ll have to hide under my desk after all the good-natured smack talk I’ve been doing.

11 here I come. 14 days left cranked at 11. I have a feeling the Grumpy Man is going to be very Grumpy for the next 14 days.

The Bike

No clothes hanging on my bike. 😀

I was a bit beat up on Monday so I didn’t ride.

Tuesday – 30 Min lvl03 – 5.95 Miles  – 143 Calories

Wednesday – 30 Min lvl03 – 6.61 Miles – 141 Calories

Today I raced home from work and hopped on the bike. My legs were wobbly just a few minutes into the workout. I was all prepared to toss in the towel but I was watching Biggest Loser and the contestants were killing themselves to run a 5k so I kept going.

Thursday – 30 Min lvl03 – 7.5 Miles – 149 Calories

My plan was to just ride 30 minutes about 5 days a week for the next two weeks but since I have to crank things to 11, I am going to have to do better than that for the next 14 days. 😦

😛

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – Almonds

Lunch – None

Dinner – Pork loin with cheese and salad

Calories – 1000

Calories were a bit light today. I don’t eat breakfast on weigh-in day. Usually I grab a bunch of fruit after the weigh-in but with only 14 days to go I need to stick to Atkins all the way. I can’t risk the big water spike from moving out of ketosis.

Yesterday was poboy day. Piles of hot roast beef, hot sausage, cheeseburger, meatball and muffalettas. The aroma was almost overwhelming. Today I had to sit in a lunch and learn with 10 people chowing down on Italian food.  Once that was done the kitchen was loaded up with leftover poboys from Wednesday.  And tomorrow is Friday which means I get to pick up 4 dozen donuts on the way to work. 😛

14 days. 14 days. 14 days. On the bright side, I am down just about 30 pounds from my re-fattening.

Happy Dieting, have a great weekend, see you soon
