He What!!! Rich Dropped 8 pounds!

I had a pretty sizable lead going into the final weigh-in Thursday morning.ย  Then I received the news that Rich had dropped 8 pounds in the final week. 8!

I pulled out the spreadsheet and with an 8 pound loss, he took the lead. My home weigh-in didn’t show any loss over the previous week, so I started to panic.

I needed the office scale to show about a 1 pound drop for me to maintain the lead.ย  I usually weigh-in at 6:30 but I waited until about 8:45 to hop on the scale. 172.8.ย  Exactly 1 pound down from the previous office weigh-in.

Rich retook the total weight lead but I was still atop the only column that counts, the total % loss.

Jess waited until about 2pm to post her weight and that extra time was enough to dehydrate her to a .03 advantage over CAP at 8.45%.

She took 3rd and Rich took second. Good thing the contest ended because Rich is a weight loss beast. Not sure how he dropped 8 pounds in the 12th week of a weight loss contest.ย  Momentum was on his side.

After making it official, I proceeded to eat myself into a coma. ๐Ÿ˜›

I went a bit overboard Thursday and then again today but I’ll be back at the hard work tomorrow.

The Contest – Final Lap!!!

 

The race is down to the last couple of days!ย  The final weigh-in is on Thursday. I actually might know the results tomorrow. Rich is going out-of-town for Easter and he won’t be in the office on Thursday. He is leaving either tomorrow or Wednesday which means I might have his final weight tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜€

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday – 170.6 – 1000 calories – 15 minutes on the bike – Solid Day

Saturday – 169.9 – 1300 calories – Zilch on bike – Calories were fine but I ate some super salty food at an office party. Nibbled on the cheese and some sausage. Really not a bad job given that I was sitting around food for 3 1/2 hours.

Sunday – 171 – 1350 Calories – Zilch on bike. Salty food got me like I thought it would.

Not a bad weekend but the scale didn’t approve. No doubt it is water.

Back To Work.....

That is the exact look on my face this morning when the scale moved up on me again. I guess it was some extra water damage from the cheese and hot sausage on Saturday.

Tough day. I had to sit through a lunch and learn watching people eat Italian subs. The good news is that I don’t think the Wednesday lunch will be tempting this week. I think we are back to the boring meals in the rotation so I think I am safe Wednesday.

The vendors coming in on Thursday are bringing BBQ. Woot! I’ll be able to eat some. In MODERATION! ๐Ÿ˜›

I need to keep the weight off this time. When I started this little journey, I wore XXXL shirts. I just tried on 4 new shirts I bought on Amazon, S!!! A little snug but they fit. No room for gains.

The Bike

I need to get rid of that water so I hit the bike for 30 minutes for 8 miles and 150 calories burned. I need to do that same ride Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Huge loss this week. Cranking it up to 11 worked wonders. I stopped eating fruit on Thursday morning. I think this might have helped too. I don’t eat breakfast at home on weigh-in day. Once I weigh-in, I am so hungry I grab a few pieces of fruit at work which of course then kicks me out of Ketosis.

The last two weeks I brought something with me to work to eat after the weigh-in so I wouldn’t disrupt the Atkins magic. I think that helped me pull the big number this week along with the lower calories and stationary bike.

I am surprised by the drop this morning. I figured I would be up today. I figured I had to be a tad dehydrated yesterday so once I hit the liquids, I figured I would bounce up this morning. Instead I had another nice drop.

Awesome to see that I am almost back into the 160s. I need to drop about 3 more pounds to hit a nice 30 pound drop for the contest. ๐Ÿ˜€

The Contest

I weighed in yesterday at 173.8 on the office scale which gives me a 26.4 pound drop since the contest started in early January.

18.8 = 7.40%

Rich had a bad week which enabled me to retake the Total Loss lead and extend my Total % Loss lead. Barring some miraculous loss by Rich or a meltdown of epic proportions by me, I should take the crown on Thursday.

Gale, the Queen Bee of Dieting Contests, didn’t participate in the competition this year. She dropped 14.5% last year. I am actually within reach of that number so even though I appear to have the contest wrapped up, I am going to keep my effort cranked to try to beat that 14.5% number.

The Bike

I took last night off but I did get 30 minutes for 7.8 miles on Wednesday night. I need to do the same today.

Don’t worry, I’ll pick up the calories in just a few more days.ย  I am a bit worried about tomorrow. I am going to an office party to celebrate the semi-retirement of a long time employee and there will be piles of good food all over the place.

I have been craving some jambalaya and I know there will be a ton at the party tomorrow.

I need to stay strong.

Funny thing is that piece of toast in the picture is what I really want to eat. I’ve had almost no bread for 3 years. Someone made some toast at work on Tuesday and the smell almost overwhelmed me. I used to eat a ton of bread and pasta and I do miss them.

I hope to slowly add them back into the mix once I have settled at my goal weight. I learned a painful lesson last year shooting back up over 200 or I HOPE I learned the lesson. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hunting Derailment!

A hunting trip with lots of eating and drinking derailed someone. Nope, not me. Rich had a big hiccup this week in the office contest. He went hunting and went more than a little overboard.

He tested the scale at work on Monday and he was up 3 pounds.ย  I didn’t realize he was up 3 until this morning. We were talking and we both realized his weight last week was 211 not 214. He originally thought he was breaking even but he was actually up 3.

I guess we shall see tomorrow if he was able to run those pounds off by the weigh-in.

On the other hand, I’ve been cranking things up a notch because I was afraid Rich would post another mega drop. I have had amazing trips to the scale all week.

Last Thursday morning I was at 176.2. At the moment it looks like I could be headed for a 4 pound drop this week.

The scale hasn’t been giving me the normal pattern of low on Monday then gains all week until the weigh-in.ย  Heck, I am hoping for another drop tomorrow. I need to put up a HUGE number and maybe Rich will toss in the towel. Even if he doesn’t he has another hunting trip this weekend so I am no longer worried. ๐Ÿ˜›

The free lunch today consisted of Fried Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans and buttered bread.

Then I had to sit next to these bad boys for an hour.

Monday was rough. I had to sit in a committee meeting and watch people devour BBQ brisket with potato salad, beans and fresh rolls. I think I gnawed off part of my tongue.

Today, the free lunch chicken smelled fantastic. It tempted me sorely. Unfortunately there was a ton of BBQ chicken and some fried chicken left over. That will tempt me again tomorrow. On top of that, I have a lunch & learn tomorrowย  so I have another round of temptations. Depending on the weigh-in, I might order a caesar salad.

The Bike

I haven’t done a great job with the bike. Only 20 minutes for 5.25 miles on Sunday, rested Monday and then 25 Minutes for 6.6 miles last night. I’ll try for 30 minutes tonight but I’m not optimistic.

Giant drop this morning. Once again, I appear headed for a really great week. Will the silly annoying aggravating antagonizing pattern continue this week?ย  Will it!!!ย  I’m going to have to eat less and move more this week to make sure my lowest weight is on Thursday morning and not Sunday.

Ran out of everything today so I spent a couple hours cooking a pork loin and cooking hamburger patties for the week.ย One thing I hate about apartment living. No BBQ pit.

I would love to be able to grill those burgers or grill some pork or some steaks.

The Bike

Friday Night I was so worn out, I fell asleep at 8pm.ย  No bike ride. Saturday wasn’t much better although I did get about 5 miles done. Same for Sunday. Only had about 5.25 miles in the legs.

The Contest

10 horrible miserable days left in the contest!ย  I need to tighten the belt and really knuckle down.ย  I’ve got no room for any mistakes at all. Heck, I have no room to have average loss weeks. I must have a monster drop this week followed by a monster drop next week.

Yet, I can’t seem to get blueberry ice cream out of my head! ๐Ÿ˜›
