7, 8 & 9

snl2bchevy2bchase2bs01e01Friday wasn’t great as you already know. I had a bit of a pistachio meltdown. Saturday was good but Sunday wasn’t..  I couldn’t stop eating. Sunday was day 7 and after seven days I was down about 8 pounds. Eating too much on Sunday bounced the scale up a bit but that is gone and at the moment I am down about 10 since last Monday.

The Menu

Sunday

Breakfast – Burger patty with cheese

Lunch – Pork loin with cheese

Dinner – Pork loin with cheese

Snacks – Burger, Lots of pistachios

Calories – 2400

Monday

Breakfast – Burger with cheese

Lunch – Pork Loin with cheese

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1500

Good Monday. As I said the scale was up a little bit but not bad. All of the food I ate on Sunday was Atkins approved. Just ate too much.

Tuesday

Breakfast – Burger with cheese

Lunch – Caesar salad and chocolate chip cookie

Dinner – Pork loin with Cheese

Calories – 1500

I did a decent job ordering a salad during a lunch meeting. Everyone else had GIANT gourmet poboys from The Milk Bar.

For some reason, Lisa thought t would be a good idea to order a tray of GIANT chocolate chip cookies. When asked if I wanted one, I was temporarily possessed and responded with a YES!  Oh well, the rest of the meal wasn’t too bad. As Caesars go, this one didn’t look high calorie. The chicken might have been a bit salty so I could bump up tomorrow but that is just a sodium bounce. My calories were probably still under 1500.

freelunchI need to do better tomorrow than I did for the last Free Lunch. We are having White Beans & Rice with chicken and sausage. I need to stick to salad with NO SAUSAGE. Wish me luck!

Happy Dieting, see you in a few days

Day 4,5 & 6

The Scale

74e9f-cartoonweightlossscalesDay 4 – Down even after some of the free lunch.

Day 5 – No Movement.

Day 6 – Shockingly down. Ate a giant enormous massive pile of pistachios and still dropped.

At the moment I am 8 down in the last 6 days. Not sure I believe the scale this morning because I did make the mistake of eating a ton of pistachios.

Diet Tip

Find a snack you barely like. If you like it too much, you will eat too much. I had to relearn this lesson last night with the pistachios. You would think almost 4 years into this diet that I would have learned this one. Given my weak willpower, I’m not sure why I thought pistachios were a good idea. I like them way too much. I need to stick with unsalted almonds. I like them but not enough to cheat with them.

The Menu

Thursday {Day 4}

Breakfast – Burger patty

Lunch – Chicken fajita salad

Dinner – Burger patty with cheese and salad

Snacks – Pistachios

Calories – 1500

Friday {Day 5}

Breakfast – Burger patty with cheese

Lunch – Pistachios

Dinner – Burger patty with cheese and salad

Snacks – Pistachio Meltdown

Calories – 2100

Saturday {Day 6}

Breakfast – None

Lunch – None

Dinner – Pork loin with salad

Snacks – Pistachios

Calories – 1500

I made it to the store Thursday night but didn’t do any cooking. I still haven’t done any cooking but I plan to toss the pork loin in the oven as soon as I finish this blog. I really have no clue how I dropped any weight this morning because I ate 2000 calories and those pistachios have plenty of salt on them. Not much salt if you stick to the portion size but I probably disposed of 9 servings. 😛

The Bike

I definitely made the right decision to stay away from exercise until November 1. I know you exercise nuts love to tell me how wrong I am, but I am not.  Not having that additional pressure makes it much easier to stick to the diet. When I try to force myself on the bike, I am stressed out from the moment I wake up until the moment I get on the bike or decide to skip it. Too much stress when I am already stressed and hungry. 😛

Yes exercise and diet is the optimal solution but the combination leads to faster burnout. Fact! 😛

That’s all folks. Happy dieting, see you tomorrow for the weekly wrap up.

Day 3

The scale

Scale

Still moving in the right direction but I’ve got a LONG way to go to repair the damage done the last 3 months. I’ve decided to put any exercise on hold until I have a full head of steam. I think the bike derailed me the last 3 tries. I need to take my own advice and I need to take some pressure off by doing diet alone. My plan is to go with just the diet until November 1. At that time I hope to have enough momentum to add some exercise.

The Menu

I did somewhat okay. Not great. Not bad. I didn’t avoid the lunch but I limited the damage somewhat. I had a salad and I picked the meat off of 2 poboy slices. One was a hamburger the other hot sausage. Skipped dinner to make up a bit for lunch.

Breakfast – None

Lunch – Burger patty, Sausage patty. Salad.

Dinner – None

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1450

The calories won’t hurt me but the sodium probably will. The food is just LOADED with sodium. I’m hoping the scale doesn’t move up tomorrow. I know it is just water if it does move up but I don’t need to see the scale move up to start off day 4.

I’ve got a committee meeting tomorrow which means I have another bad lunch to avoid.

One small victory today….. I was able to skip the beignets on the grazing table.

Happy Dieting, see you soon

Day 2

Day 2 wasn’t so bad. There wasn’t any food on the office grazing table. None. Well, the normal 3pm popcorn but that doesn’t tempt me much.

Tomorrow will be the big test. Free Lunch Wednesday. Last week I tore up the fried chicken and mac and cheese. The week before I tore into the seafood platter. The good news is that we are overdue for a healthy lunch. Maybe grilled chicken with white beans.  Usually we have salad too so I can dive into some of that if I am feeling weak.  Whatever the menu, I need to skip it.

That guy owes me a few free lunches. I just about lived at Phil’s Grill the last couple of months. The jalapeno aioli burger with grilled onions and jalapenos got me in a lot of trouble. 😛

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – None

Lunch – None

Dinner – Burgers with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1350

I know I shouldn’t skip meals,  but I don’t have much left in the fridge and I refuse to hit the store until Thursday after work.

The Scale

help-weight-scale-thumb6950860Actually day 2 on the scale wasn’t bad. I dropped 3. Of course that is just water and I needs a zillion days like that before I get back to my goal weight.

Happy Dieting, see you tomorrow

Back to Work! This time I really do mean it!

I’ve been gone forever and I do know which direction I’ve been going.

The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing.
And they’re certainly not showing
any signs that they are slowing!

I need to SLOW down!

I’ve been shooting up up and away like a rocket and I need to finally retake control. I let stress get the better of me for about 3 months and did some serious damage. Just a big pile of wrong choices.

bowl of wrong

At work we have been kicking around the idea of a Fall Biggest Loser Competition but some people want to hold off until after Christmas. We are also trying to come up with a maintenance competition because we all put the weight back on in record time this year.

I can no longer wait. I need to get back to work and I need to try to get this weight off before the end of the year! 😛

The Scale

Not going to post that for a LONG LONG LONG time.

Day 7!!!Substitute the computer for my scale and this is what I felt like doing. I need to get back to daily weighing. Just too easy for things to spiral out of control if I don’t!

Today’s Menu

Breakfast – None

Lunch – Turkey Caesar

Dinner – Burger patty with salad

Snacks – Almonds

Calories – 1350

I’m out of everything. I need to get to the store but I don’t see that happening until Thursday after work. I do have some burgers and salad but not much. I think I can stretch everything until Thursday.

I need to get back to skipping all of the ridiculous food at work. Also need to get back to skipping the free lunch, free donuts, free cake, free free free free!!! And the bike needs to figure into the equation.;

Happy Dieting, see you TOMORROW
